I want to give my 3-yr-old Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone one last chance by transferring data from it to my computer via USB, but every time I turn it on, it shuts down or only displays a black screen as its engines remain fried.
Is there a way to transfer my phone data (e.g. Contacts from my friends and notes) to my computer, so I can dispose of it in peace? Or is the phone's machinery so bad, that they can't be retrieved from it forever?
Added (1). Before this happened last month, I used my smartphone VERY often, while charging and while going around with mobile data. Both of them seem to heat up my phone very quickly.
Added (2). Yes, I used a power cord, but it kept shutting down.
