When I take my s pen out, some oily substance comes out with it - Samsung Galaxy Note8?

So I had this really bad screen protector on my Note8, so I decided to finally take it off. The adhesive was okay, so I used a hair dryer to blow some heat to the front of the phone. I carefully made sure the phone was not too hot, nor too cold, only to the point where I could actually move it and take it off.

Now here s the real problem:

A while ago, I took out my S Pen, only to be met with this oily, awful substance along the pen. It smelled bitter. After taking it out and back in again a few times, almost all the substance is gone. The thing is, it still remains on the tip, even if I clean it off, I re-insert it, then pull it out to see maybe a very tiny amount on the tip. I contacted support and I'm supposed to send it in for repair or replacement, but as I was watching a tear down video of the Note8, they specified that the cylindrical module that keeps the S Pen is water tight, which I can only assume that the piece is not a two piece thing that is kept together by adhesive or glue of sorts.

My question here is, is the oily substance something to worry about? Where does it come from?

I tested the waterproof capability of the S Pen for the first time today, after the oil incident, and it still works. I insert the pen WITH water, and the phone still works. So that means that there are no cracks to the inside of the phone to damage it.

The phone works perfectly, along with the pen.

The substance is clear, sort of oily, and does not stick to anything.
