For a while now I've been used to having my phone on silent because I go to work where I have to have my phone off but I can't keep it off because of a lot of emergency things so I keep it on silent. Well at home I keep it on ring I like turn everything back on well some reason it only just occurred to me tonight and I don't know how long it's been going on because I didn't really pay attention before but I think it's been a lot longer than I realized but my notifications don't ping when someone texts me. My dad texted me and asked hey are you there hello answer me and I'm like what do you want? And then he said something I didn't realize until after I looked at it but it said hey I'm making a cheese ball do you want one you better answer now and I didn't answer back fast enough because I didn't know I got a text and so he said I'm giving you one chance to make a yes or no because I'm making them right now. And then he said if you don't say something in three seconds I'm not making you one and I said oh yes please please I hope I'm not too late and I realized I'm not getting a notification sound. Although I do get a text but there's no sound. So I checked and the volume for my texting the volume for my ring tones everything is all on and they're up pretty high and I have the ring tone set to on I don't have airplane mode on I don't have it on silent I have it on regular volume. I have Samsung Galaxy S7. No ads just regular. Can somebody help me know what I'm doing wrong?
Added (1). I went into my dad's phone info and edited and check out what ring tone/ text notification he had. It said default text notification so I clicked it, never heard anything. So I kept playing with different ones still couldn't hear any of them. I hit volume button. Began to hear the ring tones so I saved it n went back to my dad's text. When he texted me it was still silent. All the volumes are up in my main settings. I have Samsung Galaxy S7. Please help! Wht am I missing here?
