Can a Samsung galaxy gear watch be connected to an iPhone?

I had a friend that gave me this watch for a trade. However, I tried connecting it with bluetooth and it will say it's not in range or try via gear manager. Is there any way I can fix this? It's stuck on that screen so I can't really do anything and I don't know how to reset it.
