I know you can make a phone's screen be displayed on a tv or independent monitor by using an MHL cable and connecting one end to the phone (e.g. A Samsung Galaxy Note 3) and the other to the HDMI (for picture & sound) and USB (for power) ports of the monitor.
But does this method work on a laptop? My laptop has an HDMI port and USB ports as well.
