Galaxy s4 keeps lighting up when not in use. How do I fix it?

About three months ago I dropped my phone and my poor screen bled to death. Very sad moment. I replaced the screen 3 months ago but started having issues just this past week. The first thing that happened is my phone randomly went into safe mode, then the back and menu bottom stopped working. Fine I can live. Then my home button stopped working. Once again, I can live. However, what I can seem to come to terms with is my phone lighting up, every let's say 10-15 seconds for about 4sec at a time. Is there anyway to fix this? I tried apps to clean my phone and get rid of apps producing background ads, but that didn't seem to do anything. Thanks in advance if you know of a cure!
