Every time I go onto my mom's facebook account on my laptop, the notifications icon says that there are at least 10 notifications and on my mom's Samsung Galaxy S4 phone, there's a red circle on the facebook app that also usually has a number 10 or something like that in it.
When I click on the notifications icon in the app or on my laptop, it shows me that most of the notifications are something along the lines of "[insert random name here] posted a new status update" or "[insert random name here] shared [insert random name here]'s video" or something like that.
The only notifications my mom wants are the ones that pertain to her, like if someone comments on her photo/video/status update, they comment on something she is tagged in, etc…
1. She does not have anyone in her Close Friends list.
2. I double checked and Get Notifications is not on for any of her friends.
3. She has people in a Family list but half of the people she gets notifications from are not family.
4. I have double/triple checked her facebook settings both on my laptop and on mobile and can't find an issue.
Added (1). 5. I don't have this issue on my facebook account so I double/triple checked my account and can't find out what I did to stop the notifications from friends.
6. My mom is following all or most of her friends on facebook but so am I and I don't get notifications from them unless they pertain to me.
