Hey people, so not too long ago I acquired my hands on a new handset; the Samsung S7 Edge.
For those who have this phone, they'd know about the "water resistant" gimmick. I've had the phone for 2 months now, and no problem.
And today, I make a trip to the grocery store and there's some light rain, light enough to where it's sprinkling. I don't think much of it, and receive a call in which I spoke for less than a minute. I come back home, mess with it, and realize it's acting up. I wait 10 min and realize it must've been from the light rain.
I call Samsung, explain to them my situation and since I still have warranty, I feel fine. And right away they let me know that since it's got water, it won't be repairable, and I'm basically screwed. So much for the IP68 rating right? In my opinion this is absolute bull, a phone with such a rating shouldn't act this way, and now they've left me to the wolves with my useless brick in hand. I feel this is unjust and false adverstising on their part.
I don't know much about the law, but to those who do, could this make a standing case in court? I'm not trying to be mocked, laughed at or ridiculed, I'm seriously contemplating on filing a law suit, since their "feature" failed. So could I possibly go through with this, and with those with experience, could you tell me how this could possibly play out?
Thanks.
