Putting my SIM card in another persons phone?

I broke my galaxy s4 a few months back and got a new iPhone, but I had a lot of pictures that I want from my broken phone because they were very important memories to me. Would it be ok to put my SIM card into my grandpas phone to get all the pictures? Would my information still be on his phone when I take the SIM card out of it or not even transfer to his phone at all? There s things he wouldn t want to see, so I don t want to take a chance of mixing my information with his.
And would it work to email the photos to myself or would I have to just take pictures with my phone of pictures on the other phone lol
