I have decided to buy the new Samsung Galaxy S5. As someone who has only ever owned Apple devices, this is a big step, and I've been looking into phone plans.
I DO NOT want to use data, and texting is my main source of communication. I was looking at a Pay as You Go plan that included unlimited texting, but it didn't include any data. Right now I use iMessage to communicate with people in my family.
I don't want to have to pay for data, but the people in my family don't want to pay for unlimited texting. (if I texted the through a non-Apple phone, they would pay even if they were in WiFi)
I occasionally use Blackberry Messenger, but again, this uses data instead of texting when not in WiFi.
Is there an app that I can download on Samsung that my Apple friends and family can also use? An app that will allow us to communicate through wifi and my unlimited texting plan, such as iMessage? I have researched Google Hangouts, but it seems that this uses data as well.
