My left earphone started working?

Okay, so i bought two new headphones about two weeks ago. The first ones are Marley earphones (about 50 bucks), i used those, and one for my mom which were Sony earphones (about 30 bucks). My earphones were working just fine, i listen to music quite a lot but i don't think that that is the cause. So, here's whathappened. At least what i think it could be:
1. Both headphones died after i plugged them into my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1).
2. I listened to binaural beats on both headphones (it has 3d effects on which the sound goes from one earphone to another) so basically they get louder and quieter every few seconds.
3. Both headphones died while the tablet was charging.
Now here's some extra details.
My earphones died after i plugged them in and out in a time span of about 20 seconds (plugged them out becausei wanted to listen to music on my tablet but it was too loud so i plugged them back in).
My mom's earphones died this morning after i forgot to unplug them from my tablet over the night.
My earphones lasted shorter and broke completely (losing contact, sound quality completely screwed) but there is no physical damage on them.
Mom's earphones are working, but the left earbud isn't playing any sound at all while the right one works fine. Again, no physical damage.
So, we finally come to the question.
Do i have to buy new earphones or is this fixable?
P.S. I don't have a guarantee (or however that is written) so i can't exchange them. Sorry for my bad english
