Hello everyone! I'm looking to buy my mother a powerbank as a present for her upcoming birthday 1 week from now. I thought a powerbank would be the most useful gift to her because she owns a Samsung Note 3, but doesn't have a powerbank included in her purchase. So I've made some canvassing and was surprised to find out that Samsung powerbanks are sold at a very affordable price. I'd like to know whether there's some reason significant to quality which is why these are so cheap before buying it.
Here are the actual prices:
1,800.00 Philippine pesos or 41 US dollars for 1 unit 15,600 mah powerbank
1,200.00 Philippine pesos or 28 US dollars for 1 unit 7,800 mah powerbank
Take note that these prices are from a well-known and long established mall in the Philippines. So these prices could be considered as pricey already as compared to other sellers.
I'm very curious as to why Samsung, which is a multi-national company well-known for their electronic products, priced their powerbanks at a very cheap, as in VERY CHEAP prices here in the Philippines which is almost if not, at the same price as other generic powerbanks made in China?
The significance of a well-known brand pricing it's supposedly high-end product at almost the same price to other low-end unkown brands from China like Bavin, and the like.
