I have a piece of software installed (PowerBackup 2.6) on Vista Business SP1 32-bit:
*Device=Samsung Slim Portable Blue Ray Writer (SE-506)
> Problem:
a - In "Device Manager" goto DVD/CD-ROM drives -> TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506BB USB Device*
b - Right click -> Properties -> Driver -> Driver Details -> Driver File Details
c - In the "Driver Files" path view, two files are listed:
File 1=C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\cdrom.sys (Digital Signer=Microsoft Windows, Provider=Microsoft Corporation)
File 2=C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\clbstor.sy… (Digital Signer=Not digitally signed, Provider=Cyberlink Co., Ltd.)
d1 - Whenever I insert a 25GB Verbatim BD-R Blu-ray Disc into my TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506BB USB Device*, PowerBackup 2.6 returns the error:
Error=Please insert a recordable disc in drive X and press ok to continue.
d2 - Note that the same error is returned whenever I try to access my TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506BB USB Device* via Windows Explorer
> Suspected issue:
e1 - The issue, I believe, is due to the "clbstor.sys" driver not being digitally signed. I installed the PowerBackup 2.6 application using the software CD provided with the device.
e2 - Because File 1 (above) appears to be the active driver, and because the option of using File 2 instead is not available to me (Windows will not permit me to make File 2 the active driver), the TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506BB USB Device* appears to be being falsely recognised by Windows as a CD-ROM drive rather than a Blue-Ray writer.
e3 - I request your assistance in solving this conundrum.
> Attempted resolutions (all of the following have been tried without success):
f - Boot using F8 -> Disable Driver Signature Enforcement -> Install PowerBackup 2.6
g - Disable User Account Control -> Reboot -> Install PowerBackup 2.6
h - Download and install previous release (& associated patches), i.e. PowerBackup 2.5, via Cyberlink website
i - Make changes to the registry (can't remember the detail - involved changing 2 to 3, or possibly 3 to 4 - but the machine on which I am working has subsequently been rebuilt)
j - Attempt to delete File 1 (above), but Windows prevents me from doing so
k - Uninstalling/reinstalling my TSSTcorp BDDVDW SE-506BB USB Device* via Device Manger (Action -> Scan for hardware changes)

Thank you in advance for your help:)
