I had just replaced my samsung galaxy s5 under insurance and it fell and the screen is black

I had just replaced my Samsung Galaxy S5 under insurance and paid $150 for it. I got a case and within a few days it fell from my desk and landed face down on the floor and though the phone is on, the screen is completely black and I do not feel the vibration feedback when I touch the screen. The glass is not cracked but under the light, I noticed a very thin singular crack under the glass across the top. I'm thinking it was the lcd screen? I called for a quote to fix it and was told it would be over $100, I don't have the money to pay another $100 right now. Can anyone tell me, if I remove the glass (I've watched youtube videos on how to do it) should I buy a touch screen digitizer or an lcd screen or what? If the glass is not cracked, is it salvageable? I'm just not sure which parts to buy I guess.
