Galaxy S6 LCD damage? Can I get Samsung to give me a new phone? Its not my fault?!

I just got the Galaxy S6 BRAND new about a month ago and I have always kept it in a case with a tempered glass screen protector and I was using my phone and I put it in my purse like I always do and then when I took it out 5 seconds later there is a 1/2 inch vertical line of light down my screen. The actual glass isn't cracked at all (there isn't even a single scratch on the phone) I have NEVER dropped it and have taken very good care of it. I called ATT and they said that Samsung probably wont give me a new one because its considered physical damage. Even though its not my fault. What should I do? It took me forever to get this phone. Im heartbroken:(
