How to receive group texts from iPhones on an android device?

I recently switched from an iPhone 4 to a Samsung Galaxy s6 and I need to be able to receive group texts from iPhones. I'm heavily involved in sports and most everyone on my teams have iPhones. We always group text to coordinate practices, when to be where, and other important things. I now can't receive those messages which means I don't know what's going on. Is there anyway to receive the group messages without making the IPhone owners change something in their phones? It's a really stupid system. I think all phones should use the exact same messaging methods, so people with different kinds of phones don't have to put up with this ****.
