I recently purchased a Samsung NP535U3C.
It has 6gb of ram and a 500gb hard drive, and runs a 64-bit system, so I presumed it should be fairly speedy. However, the system often freezes when performing basic tasks. Scrolling down a web page with a lot of pictures on, such as tumblr or facebook, takes forever, and I can't have a youtube video open and playing in another tab to the main thing I'm working on if I'm listening to a song or something as the audio skips terribly. The songs I have on itunes also tend to skip a lot.
The processor is an AMD A6-445M APU, 2.10 GHz, if that's relevant in any way. The guy in the shop also offered me an identical laptop with an Intel chip of some description (i3 series, possibly), but this cost significantly more so I opted not to do so. Would it be in my interests to upgrade the laptop to this superior chip?
These aren't major issues, and I can definitely live with them, but if anyone can suggest any fixes I'd be incredibly grateful, as this really isn't the sort of performance I'd expect from a brand new machine that I've had for less than a week.
