Mom and I switched SIM cards for a second, worried about my privacy?

My mother and I both have Verizon Wireless Samsung Galaxy SIII's. Her phone has suffered some kind of damage (the screen has green stripes, it keeps locking, it says she has no SIM card, etc). She and I switched SIM cards to see if that's what could've been the problem (it wasn't). Even after I had my own SIM card back I was getting some of her texts, even from yesterday. I'm worried that when her phone is repaired she will end up receiving some of mine, which really worries me and makes me uncomfortable. What is the likelihood of this happening? Is there anything I can do to prevent it? Should I expect further problems (ie my calls going to her phone or vice versa)? Thanks.
