Okay so this post might sound a little dumb. Keep in mind that I am not a tech-y person.
I was traveling in the Philippines and my phone hit some salt water at the beach. It was not submerged, it only got wet at the bottom where the charger is. I panicked so I opened the phone, took out everything and wiped it dry. Then I turned it on, the screen was flashing so I pulled out the battery again and tapped out access water. Then I turned it on again this time, the screen was black.
1. I was on a boat for a few more hours so I let it dry in the sun (all parts of the phone are separated)
2. I finally found some rice 6 hours later and put it in for 24+ hours. I turned it on and it was functioning but the screen was black.
3. I went to the store and they tried putting on a different screen and it worked fine. They wanted to charge me 350 USD to replace the screen. I said no.
4. I am now home from traveling 3 days later (I think my phone was on for these 3 days, I forgot:/) I was told to rinse it with cold water. I let it soak in cold water for a minute (I wasn't sure how long I was suppose to rinse it) to let the salt water come out. I wiped it dry, dried it some more with a hair dryer on no heat, and now it is in the rice again.
I am not a tech person and panicked so I obviously took some wrong steps. How likely is it for my phone to work again? What else should I do?
Added (1). I forgot to mention that the four steps are the steps that I took after what was done in the first paragraph.
