More Specifically iPhone 5s vs. Samsung Galaxy s4 zoom.
So back story for me, I have been a Mac user since 2006, I have owned a Macbook, Macbook Air, and a Macbook Pro.
I have also been primarily an iPhone user since 2008…I have had the 3gs, the 4, and the 5…
In between the 4 and 5 i used a samsung something or other, and while I got used to it, I couldn't wait to have an upgrade and get the iPhone 5!
Anyway, i recently decided to purchase the galaxy s4 zoom because of the "impressive camera" I love taking photos, I currently do not have a camera. So the thought of having a device where I can control shutter speeds, exposure, cash ect. Was really exciting! Also, the thought of having something different was pretty nice. I was kind of sick of having essentially the same phone, with some minor improvements for a a rough total of 5 years. Having something actually new to me seemed exciting.
HOWEVER! I have had my galaxy for about a week, and I just seem to not be able to get used to it, I hate not having safari as a browser, I hate not having a good reader option in my browser. I can't stand typing on it, I guess I was far too reliant on the amazing autocorrect in iOS, and I also actually find the camera really difficult to use (however, I am sure I can learn to better work it once I have more time playing with all of the settings) But in things like Snapchat, I can't get the flash to work. I also don't like having iMessage, since almost everyone I know is an apple user so it makes it easy to stay in touch with all of my friends and family on any device.
I have about a week before the period in which I can exchange my phone ends (with 35$ restocking fee). And I don't know if I should switch or not.
I never liked to think of myself as an apple fangirl. But maybe I am? Or am i subconsciously blinded by the facade that apple is superior.
Is there any reason that you personally enjoy android vs iOS, do you think I will adjust to this phone? Or should I just get a 5s before its too late and I am stuck with this phone for two years…
Added (1). I still have time to exchange the phone, I just have to pay 35$ to restock. Since the phones are the same price it will otherwise be an equal exchange
