Should I buys phone with bad ESN/IMEI?

The phone is from america and was running on the sprint network

1.According to the seller it is a genuine phone and not a fake chinese. (Samsung Galaxy S5),
2. It works fine like it should it just needs to be unlocked,

Will the bad ESN & IMEI limit some of the functions of the phone? Especially daily use?
