I applied to go to a school for 4-6 months in Scotland in February. If I get accepted I will need a cellphone while I'm over there. Currently I use verizon and my contract is about to run up (and I have a super cracked iphone 4) so I don't want to renew a contract if I'm going out of country, but I want to have a new phone until february and not have to buy a completely separate one when I get to UK.
I know my friend just left to Canada and she got a Samsung Galaxy s3 Mini and got a Canadian service sim card, and I was wondering if I could do something similiar? I really like Samsung smart phones and would really want to get one of those.
I just don't know if I can get an Unlocked one that will work both here and across the pond? I know there needs to be different frequency bands for different countries I just don't know how to figure that out and find a phone that will work here and there (with different sim cards of course)
